My Kitchen Crew

All this cooking and photographing of food creates a lot of work, namely dirty dishes.

A lot of bloggers are on their own in the kitchen, but I am pretty lucky because I have a crew.

First, meet Max.  He’s the youngest on the chain gang, but the most hardworking fella in the business.

He takes his tasks very seriously.  Whenever a kitchen timer goes off, he makes sure I hear it.  No one likes burnt food.  So he runs around the kitchen and lets off the most bloodcurdling adorable barks to make sure I know, hey, the timer went off.

His favorite task, indeed, is washing dishes.  He has been known to stand at the dishwasher, waiting for me to open it.  If he get’s impatient, he often jumps up and slaps the door.  There’s dishes a waitin’, missy.

Next we have Maggie.  She is the middle child but far from mediocre.  She is a princess as a matter of fact.  She wants everyone to know it.  don’t you know it?  Her petite paws show it.  Sometimes she helps out in the kitchen.  Sometimes she sits on my feet when I cook.  She’s a woman, go figure.

Lastly we have Murphy.  He’s the respected elder of the bunch.  The Grand Poobah. Apparently he has better things to do today.

Frankly, if you ask me, he’s setting a bad example for the others.

I can tell he cares.  A lot.

So, there we have it:  my kitchen crew.  Now, if only I could get Max to show Mr. Hausfrau how it’s done.
